January 22 will mark the 13th Anniversary of Kobe Bryant's 81 point game against the Toronto Raptors, and it appears that Nike Basketball will celebrate by finally releasing the sneakers worn during the Black Mamba's historical scoring achievement.
In a leaked image shared by @nikezoomkobe , we see the Kobe 1 in the Protro form featuring the original white-based build, with black Swoosh branding on the lateral and medial sides and court purple accents on the ankle collar and midsole. In 2016, rumors surfaced of the return of the original "81 Points" Kobe 1 when the sneakers appeared on the SNKRS app, we've yet to see a re-release surrounding Bryant's iconic moment.
According to FootLocker Europe's release calendar, the "81 Points" Nike Kobe 1 Protro is set to return on Jan. 22, 2019, which is the anniversary of the 81 points performance. The U.S. release date has yet to be confirmed but stay tuned to Sole Collector for updates.
