Nike has already previewed a bevy of upcoming Air Max 720 colorways, but it looks like the model's low-top runner incarnation is just the beginning of what fans can expect from the tech.

Much like how last year's Air Max 270 has gone on to inspire new models such as the ISPA Air Max 270 SP SOE, the Air Max 720 will apparently be used as the basis for more sneakers including this high-top.

While the model's build may suggest a hoops inspiration, the shoe's heel "racing" branding indicates otherwise, suggesting that this is perhaps another experimental take on the runner. Further details include a zipper that extends across the side panel and added branding at the heel of the Air Max unit.

Not much is currently known about this Air Max 720 high, but stay tuned to Sole Collector for updates.

UPDATE (01/29): Official images have surfaced of the high-top Air Max 720 dubbed the Air Max 720 Saturn. The pair is rumored to be part of Nike's annual collection for NBA All-Star Weekend. This year's offering is reportedly themed around Charlotte's Motor Speedway. Expect the Air Max 720 Saturn to hit select retailers in mid-February. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.
