Nike's 2019 Chinese New Year Collection will feature some of the most popular models the brand has to offer. The extensive lineup incorporates the Air Jordan 12, a few Air Maxes and an under-the-radar basketball silhouette—the Nike Air Flightposite.
The celebratory version of the performance model will boast a vibrant shell with black neoprene covering the shoe's inner bootie and mid-foot, while a gradient pink to purple color blocking, paired with diamond-shaped decorations, is seen throughout the the upper. A similar gradient effect adorns the Swoosh, with a hand graphic appearing on the shoe's zipper. Completing the design is a black and gold speckled outsole. This isn't the first time Nike has released a Chinese New Year-themed of the Flightposite. Back in 2014, the Swoosh dropped a special colorway of the Exposed version of the model celebrating the "Year of the Horse."
The "Chinese New Year" Nike Air Flightposite is launching in Greater China on Jan. 10. As of now, a stateside release as yet to be confirmed by Nike but stay tuned to Sole Collector for updates.
UPDATE (01/18): Official Nike product images of the "Chinese New Year" Air Flightposite have surfaced. While this pair has already dropped in China, it hasn't yet been confirmed to for a wider February release alongside the rest of Nike's Chinese New Year lineup. Check back for updates on these in the coming weeks.
