Love him or hate him at the moment, Kanye West is still an incredible cosign to have in the sneaker world. On the latest episode of Ball in the Family on Facebook Watch, West sat down with Lavar Ball and the a few others from the Big Baller Brand team to show support for the independent hoops brand that took the world by storm back in 2017.
West can first be seen in the episode making a surprise cameo at a JBA game in Belgium that caused such a stir that it had to be temporarily stopped.
"When Ye walks in, everybody is going crazy," said Lavar. "Nobody expects a big-time rapper to come to Belgium in the middle of a basketball game. You never know who is going to come to a JBA Basketball Game. That’s why you hurry up and get there. Because something special is always bound to happen."
Following the game, Lavar and West sat down to dinner to discuss the rap superstar's potential role with the future of BBB and the JBA. "I see where [JBA] is going," said West. "I see the potential. I can feel it."
Reports of the two charismatic figures meeting up originally surfaced back in October when Ye posted a photo with the godfather of BBB on his Twitter account.
While it is still unclear what will come of the meeting, it will be interesting to see the potential outcome from a BBB x Yeezy partnership in 2019. Check out the entire episode of Ball in the Family in the video player above.
