Under Armour has officially revealed Stephen Curry's forthcoming signature model—the Curry 6. The debut colorway of the Curry 6 pays homage to the Fox Theater, an iconic landmark in Oakland that reopened the same year the two-time MVP was drafted by the Golden State Warriors.
The colors used are made to resemble the brightly lit marquee of the establishment that brightens up the street at nighttime. A black knit upper with tonal welded overlays is accented by vibrant hits of neon green, yellow, and orange on the tongue, eyelets, and outsole. Branding on the low-top comes in the form of Curry's SC30 logo on the lateral heel portion of the midsole, and Under Armour's shield stamped on the tongue and heel.
Multiple performance upgrades are also showcased on the Curry 6 to match up with the Warriors point guard's innovative style of play. Full-length HOVR cushioning has been added to the midsole for improved impact absorption and energy return. A split outsole design aims to provide Curry with superior traction for his fast-paced movements. Other subtle details include a midfoot shank plate on the outsole, unique eyelet system that wraps around the heel, a sock-like ankle collar, and elastic pull tab on each tongue.
Curry fans and Bay Area residents alike will be able to purchase the "Fox Theater” Under Armour Curry 6 when it hits Under Armour stores, underarmour.com, and other select retailers on Jan. 4, 2019 for $130.
