Metal-hued sneakers are already attention grabbers. Add 50,000 Swarovski crystals to a pair of gold Air Max 97's and you have certified neck snappers.
The OG "Metallic Gold" colorway of the Nike Air Max 97 saw a re-release earlier this year in May. But today, NYC-based creative Ava Nirui upped the ante by flexing a pair of that she says have been dipped in 50,000 Swarovski crystals.
While the mesh portions of the upper and midsole are untouched, the alternating parts get the crystal treatment. No word on whether or not these will get a release as a follow-up to last year's silver-based Swarovski colorway.
UPDATE (12/17): Nike has officially revealed the gold colorway of its Swarovski Air Max 97. The eye-catching pair is a take on the OG "Metallic Gold" colorway of the 1997 runner covered in Swarovski's shimmering Crystal Fabric. This pair will release at select retailers on Dec. 26.
