Nike's latest Air Max 98 is a China-exclusive inspired by the country's biggest city.
The "Shanghai" Air Max 98 covers the black upper of the '90s runner in an all-over print of Chinese characters that reads "Run Shanghai." The digitized effect is a nod to the bright lights seen across the city at night.
It's accompanied by white leather overlays covered in a similar graphic, a Tyvek tongue inspired by the race bibs worn during the Shanghai Marathon, and reflective hits throughout. An infrared Swoosh outlined in blue and other infrared branding give the colorway an additional pop of color.
Although the pair has already sold out in China, it is unclear if it will be receiving a wider release in the future. The "Shanghai" Nike Air Max 98 retailed for ¥1,299 (app. $190).
