'A Star Is Born' Jordan 1s Almost Here

Along with upcoming Air Jordan 1s inspired by Michael Jordan's Rookie of the Year season, there's said to be another style on the horizon which also takes on some nostalgic inspiration. 

According to info from @pinoe77, @djfolk, and @psmirf, an Air Jordan 1 is on the way with colors taken from a 1984 Sports Illustrated cover from MJ's rookie year. Rather than the traditional-style make up seen on recent Jordan 1 High OG colorways, the style will reportedly use a striped green Swoosh and Wings logo atop a black and white upper.

An exact release date isn't available, but this pair will reportedly drop sometime this holiday season for $160.

UPDATE (10/4): Jordan Brand has unveiled an official look at this colorway, officially dubbed "A Star Is Born." The Sports Illustrated-inspired make up is due to release this holiday season, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed.

UPDATE (12/21): Official images of the "A Star Is Born" Air Jordan 1, inspired by one of Michael Jordan's early Sports Illustrated covers, have surfaced. This colorway is slated to hit retailers on Dec. 27 for $160.
