Adidas is bringing some of its retro silhouettes into the future with the introduction of the "Never Made" collection.

The overall premise of the collection is to combine the uppers of pivotal sneakers across the brand's archive with modern technology that has been so successful for the Three Stripes in recent years like Boost-cushioned and 4D-printed midsoles. This project was inspired by brand workshops that often brought previously unexpected combinations to life.

In total, eight different pairs have been created: the Marathon x 5923, Country x Kamanda, I x 4D, Boston Super x R1, Rising Star x R1, Micropacer x R1, 98 x Crazy BYW, and ZX 930 x EQT. These pairs are further segmented into series titled Line of Descent that features modern midsoles like full-length Boost and the wavy Kamanda, Genealogy of NMD that highlights three Originals models that inspired the NMD_R1, and Genetically Modified '90s Tech that re-purposes the Feet You Wear and EQT technologies. These three groups represent the '70s, '80s, and '90s, respectively.
