The Michael Jordan Motorsports team hasn't seen a release connected to it since the Air Jordan 4 back in 2017. One year later, a new Air Jordan 1 has surfaced with the rare "Motorsports" theme.
This version of the Air Jordan 1 varies greatly from the original model. A traditional lacing system is replaced with two large straps on the forefoot and around the ankle. An additional leather overlay has also been placed on the medial toe area, and a pull tab has been included on the heel. The traction pattern on the outsole has also been revised.
From a branding standpoint, the traditional "Nike Air" tag on the tongue has been replaced in favor of a debossed Motorsports "23" logo. A larger version of the same logo also wraps the heel. The colorway stays true to past Motorsports-related product with a white leather upper, grey detailing, and a black liner.
A release date for the "Motorsports" Air Jordan 1 is unclear at the moment. In the mean time, check out a first look at the pair, courtesy of @hoopcity_dongdaemun on Instagram.
