Complex's hit series Sneaker Shopping with Joe La Puma stopped by Stadium Goods this week to host Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith.
Smith made headlines recently for his mental error in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, but La Puma kept the focus on sneakers and Smith's recent activity with popular streetwear brand Supreme. Smith starred as a model in the recent Supreme x NBA collab and as of most recently took the plunge of getting the brand's box logo tattooed on his right calf. Smith neglected to wear shorts for the cameras but did discuss his now permanent relationship with the cult brand.
Some people thought the New York streetwear brand may have paid Smith to get the ink but he stands behind his decision claiming "I did it because it's who I am. It worked out though, I got a lot of great responses." Of course, Smith did receive plenty of hate for the choice but it sounds like he's developed a thick skin when it comes to negative internet comments. "The trolls are always going to have something to say but I let that rock and I take the win," said Smith.
Check out what else he had to say about Supreme, memorable Jordan silhouettes, playing in other signature sneakers, and of course what he decided to take home in the full video above.
