More Vans That Weren't Designed by Virgil Abloh

Vans recently released the Consturct Highland, a low-top model that features various details that liken it to Virgil Abloh's deconstructed designs for Nike.

Since the successful release of Virgil Abloh's "The Ten" collection with Nike in 2017 that featured deconstructed takes on some of the brands most recognizable silhouettes, more brands have been taking inspiration from Abloh's design language for their own releases. One such brand who seems to have very obviously been inspired these creations is Vans.

Following up news of an "Inside Out "pack from the skate brand last month that some believed to be an official Off-White project, Vans has dropped even more Abloh-esque footwear. The latest shoe to get the treatment is the Construct Highland. Black leather makes up a majority of the upper with white suede overlays on the heel and toe.

The inspiration is more evident in the finer details that include a canvas checkerboard heel, "NO MINIMUM" written on the lateral heel in similar fashion to Abloh's signature markings, a size tag displayed on the outer tongue, and random blue and white pieces of fabric reading "OFF THE WALL" extending down from the eyelets.

Interested buyers can purchase the Vans Construct Highland at retailers like vans.com for $85.
