Detailed Look at 'Shattered Backboard' Jordan 1 Flyknits

The Air Jordan 1 Low is apparently getting a Flyknit makeover, first spotted in the 'Shattered Backboard' colorway inspired by Michael Jordan's glass-breaking dunk in a 1985 exhibition game.

In 2015, Jordan Brand introduced the "Shattered Backboard" Air Jordan 1, inspired by a Nike exhibition game staged in Italy in 1985, during which Michael Jordan shattered the glass of the backboard while dunking. The retro quickly became one of the brand's most popular releases in recent years, spawning an alternate version a year later. Perhaps the "Shattered Backboard" story isn't quite wrapped up, as leaked photos of a possible upcoming release indicate its continuation.

The Air Jordan 1 Flyknit is apparently being served up in low-top form, with this "Shattered Backboard" colorway being the first to surface. According to Yakkun, the shoe has already popped up in China, but official release information hasn't been announced.

Officially launched last summer, the Air Jordan 1 Flyknit initially received mixed reviews, but is generally described as a comfortable update to the classic. As of now, there's no confirmed release date for the Air Jordan 1 Low Flyknit, but we'll keep you updated as the story develops.

UPDATE (07/18): US11 offers up an official look at the "Shattered Backboard" Air Jordan 1 Flyknit. This colorway still does not have a confirmed release date, but check back soon for updates.
