Adidas' latest addition to its extensive NMD family is an NMD Racer collaboration in conjunction with the Whitaker Car Club.
Inspired by racing culture and luxury cars, this NMD Racer sports a simple white and black color scheme. White Primeknit takes care of the upper with black "motion blur" accents embroidered on the side panels and tongue to evoke the feeling of speed. A brown leather panel wraps the heel as a further touch to luxury cars.
Finishing details include a black collar, Whitaker Car Club branding on the heel pull tab, and a checkerboard insole as an additional nod to car racing. The automotive-inspired color scheme sits atop a white Boost midsole complete with the NMD line's customary EVA inserts and a rugged outsole.
The Whitaker Car Club x Adidas NMD Racer will initially release on Friday, June 8 exclusively at Whitaker Group boutiques: Social Status (Charlotte, NC), APB Store (Greenville, SC), A Ma Maniére (Atlanta, GA), and Prosper (Jersey City, NJ). A global launch at additional retailers like adidas.com will occur the following day on Saturday, June 9. The retail price is set at $200.
