Pictures of a Nike Air Max 1 'Safari' have surfaced and while the pair is still only rumored, it seems to coincide with an upcoming Nike Air Max 95 of the same name.
Linking up with UK retailer Size?, the next safari-themed kicks are coming from across the pond. Set to release this weekend, the Nike Air Max 95 'Safari' appears to be one piece of the puzzle, with the Air Max 1 being the final silhouette to bring the pack together.
The Nike Air Max 1 features a premium dark and light grey leather upper with orange touches on the toe box and sock collar mesh. The safari print is spread over the leather parts of the upper and tongue. Friday, June 15 is the rumored release date, while a price point and Size? exclusivity are still TBD.
On the other hand, the Air Max 95 is set to drop Friday, June 8 for a retail price of £130 (app. $173) exclusively via the Size? Previews App and Size? store.
The 95/1 pairing is a common a thread in the safari-themed sneaker game. 2018 saw the Atmos x Nike 'Animal Pack' which played on similar features and cliches of past safari Nike sneaker packs. However, it's the OG 1987 'Safari' release that serves as the inspiration for the newest wildlife pack. Light and dark grays with orange dominate this colorway, paying clear homage to the first 'Safari' kicks.
UPDATE (06/11): Following last week's Air Max 95 release, Size? has officially revealed its "Safari" Air Max 1. Also inspired by the OG colorways of the Nike Air Safari, this colorway covers the Air Max 1 upper with black and grey Safari print panels and burnt orange mesh. The pair will be available exclusively at Size? stores and via the Size? Previews app on Friday, June 15 for £120 (app. $161).
