eBay Sneaker Drop

Today, Ebay has announced its first community sneaker drop, a curated selection of some of the rarest and most highly-coveted sneakers.

The collection will be stocked with the help of New York consignment store Stadium Goods and make it easier for sneakerheads to browse for their next pickup. Along with the various grails up for sale, the selection will also provide special deals on products from brands like the aforementioned Stadium Goods, Adidas, Reebok, and more.

"We wanted to offer a new way to bring together the best selection of rare pairs and trending collabs in one destination for our community of sneaker fans—to create the ultimate 'drop' that only Ebay could deliver," said Ebay senior director of fashion Renee Paradise.

According to a press release, there are more than 1.2 million listings for sneakers on the popular auction site each day with a pair being sold every 1.5 seconds. This new space will include some of the most hyped-up pairs in recent memory like the "Wave Runner" Yeezy Boost 700, Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 1/97, "UNC" Off-White x Air Jordan 1, and more.

In celebration of the launch, eBay will also be commissioning a well-known streetwear artist to create an installation set to be revealed at Stadium Goods in the coming weeks on June 26. Ebay's community sneaker drop is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, June 27 at 7 a.m. PT here.
