In celebration of Tinker Hatfield's 66th birthday, Nike is dropping limited pairs of the Air Jordan 3 for an entire week.
The "Week of 3s" kicked off today with a re-release of the Air Jordan 3 "Tinker" that released earlier this year, a pair based on Hatfield's original sketch of the iconic model complete with a non-customary Nike Swoosh. A different pair will release everyday on Nike SNKRS for the rest of the week from May 1 to May 5. From the looks of things, each morning will feature a surprise drop, as the remaining four pairs that will be releasing are blacked out on Nike's website.
After a short hiatus, the Air Jordan 3 returned to shelves this year to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the silhouette. Along with the new "Tinker" pair, 2018 has also brought about the return of the popular "Black Cement" colorway, as well as the "Free Throw Line" Air Jordan 3 that celebrates MJ's dunk from the free throw line in the 1988 dunk contest. It is unclear if the surprise drops will be restocks of these pairs, or will unveil entirely new colorways and variations.
It is worth noting, the "Week of 3s" has only been officially announced in the U.K. as of now. However, today the "Tinker" 3s restocked in the U.S. on Nike SNKRS, so the trend could continue stateside as well. Keep an eye on Nike SNKRS for the rest of the week as Nike continues the celebration—the special drops will be available exclusively to SNKRS members.
UPDATE (05/04): Following a restock of the "Black Cement" Air Jordan 3 yesterday, the final "Week of 3s" drop will be the "Katrina" colorway. Although the anticipated pair will be releasing stateside on May 12, U.K. customers will get their chance to cop a little earlier when the color scheme hits nike.com today at 15:30 BST (10:30 a.m. ET).
UPDATE (05/02): After yesterday's "True Blue" restock, the second "Week of 3s" drop is the "Free Throw Line" Air Jordan 3 NRG. Priced at £169.95 (around $231), this retro will be restocked today at 15:30 BST (10:30 a.m. ET) from nike.com.
UPDATE (05/01): Today's "Week of 3s" release was a restock of 2016's "True Blue" Air Jordan 3 retro complete with OG "Nike Air" branding on the heel tab.
