With the 2018 FIFA World Cup set to kick off from Russia next month, Nike is introducing more pitch-inspired sneakers tied to the global tournament.

In addition to new Off-White x Nike Zoom Fly Mercurials courtesy of Virgil Abloh, the Mercurial soccer boot range will also take its speedy shades and design cues to the Air Max Plus retro runner. Known as the Mercurial TN, this update sheds the supportive "fingers" of the traditional Air Max Plus for a minimal look that more closely resembles the upper of a boot.

Further updates to make the Air Max Plus more cleat-like include a TPU coating, large logos, and iridescent support shanks which reference the plates found at the sole of Mercurials.

The Mercurial TN will debut tomorrow in black and orange colorways on nike.com and in-store exclusively from Foot Locker UK and EU on Thursday, May 17. They'll then be joined by the white style later this month on May 31.
