Continuing its celebration of the Suede's 50th anniversary, Puma is gearing up to launch its collaboration with luxury goods brand MCM.
This interpretation pays homage to the early days of hip-hop by combining one of the era's most popular shoes with one of its most frequently worn luxury brands. Crafted in Italy, MCM's signature Visestos canvas takes the place of the traditional suede upper. Adding to the premium nature of the collab is a brass MCM logo on the tongue, leather laces, and canvas packaging that is also covered in the brand's logo print.
Along with a cognac colorway, this special edition Suede will also be offered in white and red/blue color schemes. Matching track jackets and pants adorned with the same MCM and Puma branding will be accompanying this release as well—a further homage to early hip-hop culture.
The MCM x Puma Suede collection releases on Thursday, May 24 and will be available at MCM and Puma stores, as well as select retailers. The Suede will retail at $340, while the apparel will run from $250-$300. The red/blue collection will remain an exclusive to MCM stores and mcmworldwide.com.
