The latest installment in what has become an annual occurrence for Nike SB has been revealed by Todd Bratrud. The artist took to his Instagram account to show off some images of this year's 4/20 release, the "White Widow" Nike SB Dunk Mid.
Designed by Bratrud, this pair of the strapped mids is covered in shaggy sail and mint green suede. The suede is also used on the Swoosh and SB branding hits. The name and color combination is inspired by a particular strain of a certain herbal substance celebrated every year on April 20. To play off of the name further, Bratrud illustrated special artwork that depicts a droopy-eyed black widow spider in the same color palette used across the shoe's upper. A red hit is also used on the outsole to mimic the red spot seen on the back of the poisonous arachnids.
This is not the first time that Bratrud has designed a 4/20 drop for Nike SB. Back in 2010, he designed the "Skunk" Dunk High that has gone on to become a favorite among SB heads. A year later he also designed the "Cheech and Chong" Dunk High as well.
According to his IG account, the "White Widow" Nike SB Dunk Mid will be receiving an exclusive pre-release at Familia Skateshop in Minneapolis, MN on April 14 before getting a wider launch on 4/20. Matching boards and apparel from Send Help will also be releasing.
