UCF Knights linebacker Shaquem Griffin (18) leaves the field for halftime of the Peach Bowl between the UCF Knights and the Auburn Tigers. UCF defeated Auburn by the score off 34-27 at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Shaquem Griffin was born with amniotic band syndrome, causing the fingers on his left hand not to fully develop. Because of the pain, Griffin's hand was amputated at the age of 4, but that hasn't stopped him from working his way to the National Football League.

Before being selected by a pro team, Griffin officially became part of another family on Friday. The linebacker announced that he's signed an endorsement deal with Nike. Terms of the agreement have not been revealed.

A two-year starter at UCF, Griffin was two-time First Team All-AAC and a second team All-American in 2017. He made national headlines at the Combine, where he performed 20 reps on the bench using a prosthesis and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds, the fastest time ever recorded by a linebacker at the event. He's a projected 4th or 5th Round pick and should be selected on Saturday.
