Out of all of Nike's outstanding ads throughout the years, Michael Jordan and Spike Lee's Mars Blackmon campaign—which coined the tagline "it's gotta be the shoes"—is arguably the most memorable. Decades since it was first uttered, the phrase still carries weight, and Nike's continuing the legacy with a new series of clips centered around the Zoom Vaporfly 4% runner.

The concept has been reintroduced through a "Shoe Therapy" session hosted by Lena Waithe of Master of None fame. Instead of MJ and Mars, the campaign is bolstered by a new generation of prominent sneaker faces including long-distance runner Shalane Flanagan, Golden State's Draymond Green, skate legend Paul Rodriguez, track and field runner Deajah Stevens, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman, and Vote Forward winner Sean Wotherspoon.

Watch each of the therapy sessions in the videos above and below as the patients attempt to navigate their unique sneaker obsessions.
