After debuting on Nike's NBA jerseys last fall, the brand is bringing its interactive NikeConnect technology to footwear for the first time.

Set to debut on the NYC-exclusive Air Force 1 NikeConnect QS, the technology uses an NFC chip to bring Nike+ users experiences they can't find anywhere else. By tapping a phone on the shoe's embedded chip, subscribers will gain access to content including a new monthly release method known as The Choice. This process allows users to purchase one of two limited-edition shoes based on their own choosing, which is sure to make for some tough decisions.

The Air Force 1 NikeConnect QS will also provide access to exclusive sneaker drops, events, and content. According to Digital Trends, select Nike+ users in NYC will receive invitations to purchase the Air Force 1s this month, although an exact date has not been announced.
