For its latest training model, Nike has brought together two of its footwear technologies—Free and Metcon. The fusion of the two has created a brand new silhouette that provides both flexibility and comfort.

Billed simply as the Free x Metcon, the upper is composed of a durable yet breathable open face mesh with a neoprene sock collar. A plastic overlay acts as top eyelets, displays Swoosh branding, and also wraps the heel for added support. From a tech standpoint, the outsole uses the grooved Free technology to promote natural motion, while also providing the grip and durability added by the Metcon's tri-star rubber pattern.

A grey upper with minimal white accents, black branding, and a speckled midsole act as the debut colorway for the Free x Metcon. A welcome detail is the use of the Air Jordan 4's iconic cement print pattern on the heel and outsole. The Nike Free x Metcon will be available through select retailers beginning on April 1.
