Following 2016's "Vote Back" campaign and last year's "Vote Forward" competition, Nike's keeping the crowdsourced theme going for Air Max Day 2018.

This time around, Nike is calling on aspiring designers (although the brand notes that no prior experience is necessary) from across the globe to participate in what it's calling the On Air design workshop. The program will be offered in London, New York, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose from one of ten noteworthy Air Max silhouettes, which they'll then customize with the help of Nike designers and special guest mentors from each city.

Models featured in the campaign include the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 180, Air Max BW, Air Max 93, Air Max 95, Air Max 97, Air Max 98, Air Max 270, and the Air VaporMax Plus.

After completing the day-long design process, On Air participants will submit their designs to a panel of judges. Three designs from each city will be chosen as semifinalists, where fans will then be able to vote for their favorite on nike.com/onair. Each city's top-voted design will then be put into production and released at a later date.

The On Air campaign runs from March 22 through April 15. Sign ups are open now in London, Paris and Shanghai, with the remaining cities expected to go live soon. Visit nike.com/onair to register now.
