Since being brought back for an extensive retro run to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Nike Air Max 97 has been rekindled as a favorite runner among a lot of sneakerheads. The model's designer, Christian Tresser, recently took to Instagram to show off an original sample of the Air Max 97 "Silver Bullet," arguably the silhouette's most popular colorway, in celebration of Air Max Day 2018.

The original sample is largely the same as the pair that would become a popular seller at retailers, but Tresser does break down a few of the changes. Differences include yellow detailing in place of red on the outsole and a molded Swoosh logo rather than the embroidered emblem that would make its way to retail.

While the "Silver Bullet" has experienced a fair share of restocks over the past year, Air Max 97 fans can still look forward to new renditions of the model like the upcoming "South Beach" and "Portugal Patchwork" colorways dropping in the coming weeks.
