Nike's new 360-degree Flyknit technology was unveiled in February on the Mercurial Superfly 360 and Mercurial Vapor 360 soccer cleats, and the next generation tech is already popping up in other categories such as basketball with last week's debut of the Kobe A.D. NXT 360. Today, we're learning even more about the technology, which looks like it will be a fixture for the brand moving forward.

Nike says there are three major benefits of the new knit, starting with a higher level of lockdown thanks to its foot-wrapping fit. The all-encompassing design is also said to improve speed and agility by bringing the wearer closer to the ground. And perhaps most important of all, the increased use of Flyknit makes the 360-degree iterations more sustainable than previous models by further reducing traditional cut-and-sew methods.

The video above gives a look at the design process behind 360-degree Flyknit, as well as how each sneaker looks in action, including the new Free RN Motion 360 runner that will be released on April 5 on nike.com.
