Perhaps the only other team as synonymous with Michael Jordan as the Chicago Bulls is his alma mater, the UNC Tar Heels. To celebrate his time at UNC before becoming one of the most recognizable figures in the history of sports, Jordan Brand is rumored to be dropping a "UNC" Air Jordan 4 in 2019.

According to leaker @pinoe77 on Instagram, this colorway is expected to hit retailers some time next year. Information on the release is currently low, but based on renderings posted by the leaker on his Instagram, the pair might resemble the "Military" Air Jordan 4.

White leather and grey nubuck would make up the upper, while the military blue accents would all be converted to the Tar Heels' popular shade of blue. It is unclear if the pair will be emblazoned with any official UNC logos.

Tar Heels-inspired pairs of Jordan retros are nothing new for the brand. The blue and white color scheme has been used on pairs like the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 3, and more. More recently, MJ's collegiate championship with UNC was used as the inspiration for the "Win Like '82" Air Jordan 11, which released at the tail end of 2017. Of course, UNC athletes have also received their fair share of exclusive PEs over the years as well.

Stay tuned for as more information regarding the "UNC" Air Jordan 4 becomes available.
