Adidas skateboarding is set to debut a new collaboration with team rider Na-kel Smith.
Dubbed the "Na-kel Smith Collection," the first-time collab features the Matchcourt RX3 silhouette and a variety of pieces inspired by the skater's childhood artwork.
The "Na-Kel Matchcourt RX3" shoe comes with a white canvas upper, outlined with red and black piping around the midsole. The yellow outsole and plaid insole were designed by Smith and allow him to reflect his personality in creating the sneaker. The silhouette also comes with a vulcanized rubber outsole that helps make the shoe optimal for gripping the board. Subtle hints like the tongue branding and heel pull tab show how Smith infused his personality into the capsule.
The rest of the collection features apparel pieces like a hoodie, jersey, t-shirt, socks and shorts. Smith's original artwork covers the pieces, making them truly a product of his own creation. "It's a doodle based off of a younger me. Now it's my friend," said Smith.
The collaborative effort between Adidas and Smith is the most recent capsule collection between the skate brand and its riders. Sole Collector also covered the collective effort of Adidas Skateboarding and team rider Luca Puig's brand Hélas which dropped this year as well.
The Adidas x Na-kel Smith capsule collection drops on March 10, 2018 at adidas.com and at select Adidas retailers.
