Balenciaga Made Some Changes to Its Triple S Model

A look at the new version of the Balenciaga Triple S.

Since its debut last year, the Balenciaga Triple S has become one of the most polarizing sneakers on the market. Some people cosign its chunky aesthetic, while others completely dismiss it as nothing more than a bad shoe stamped with a big label's name. Love it or hate it, the Triple S and the 'dad shoe' trend are here to stay and the fashion house has created a version 2.0 of sorts with minor tweaks for its successful army tank of a shoe.

The newest version of the Triple S sports a stripped down take on the original upper. The depth and materials have been simplified to only include a nylon upper with leather and nubuck overlays. The different panels give the new pair a slightly different look altogether than the original, while the return of the pre-distressed treatment on the upper and massive three-layered midsole unit maintain the DNA that made it stand out. Minimal Balenciaga branding is seen via a tag on the side panel, sizing tag displayed on the outer tongue, and tonal 'BB' on the leather heel tab.

While the off white-colored pair is currently sold out at retailers like MATCHESFASHION, expect more colorways of Balenciaga's new Triple S to continue to make their way to retailers throughout the year.
