With just a few weeks left until 2018's NBA All-Star Weekend kicks off in Los Angeles, Adidas has officially unveiled two more drops tied to the occasion: the Crazy BYW and the Crazy BYW X.
The models reintroduce Adidas' Feet You Wear technology from the '90s with a modern twist by adding Boost cushioning to the equation. Dubbed Boost You Wear, the podular outsole was designed to mimic the natural movement of the foot.
This All-Star launch payings homage to the original by utilizing a purple and black color palette—a look seen on some of Kobe Bryant's early signature models with the brand which utilized Feet You Wear technology.
The Crazy BYW, a lifestyle shoe, is dropping exclusively at 747 Warehouse St. during NBA All Star Weekend. Adidas is also debuting the Crazy BYW X, a performance-based take on the silhouette. This version reworks the shoe's tooling and adds an engineered Primeknit upper, along with a higher collar.
The black and purple colorway of the Adidas Crazy BYW will only be available at 747 Warehouse St. in Los Angeles from Feb. 16-17. The Crazy BYW X will see a U.S. pre-launch on Feb. 17 at 747 Warehouse St. before receiving a wider release in the future. The shoes retail for $170 and $200, respectively.
