For Air Max Day 2017, Nike held its Vote Forward program, a contest that allowed 12 Air Max collectors from around the world the opportunity to design their own unique Air Max sneaker. The public then voted on the pair they wanted to be created by Nike and released for Air Max Day 2018. The eventual winner of the contest was owner of Round Two, Sean Wotherspoon, who designed a hybrid model that combined the upper of the Air Max 97 with the Air Max 1 midsole and used various colors of corduroy across the upper inspired by Nike hats from the '80s.

A limited number of pairs have already been released to the public through Round Two's booth at the second annual ComplexCon, as well as various spots in L.A. and Virginia by Wotherspoon himself. The limited nature of the sneaker thus far has commanded a high price tag on the resell market, despite its upcoming wider release. Ahead of the highly-anticipated launch, we got to take a closer look at the shoe fresh out of the box.
