UK's Hanon Shop has joined forces with Reebok for a very interesting collaboration. The "Belly's Gonna Get Ya" Workout Lo Plus is inspired by a strange Reebok commercial that aired in the UK back in 2000.
The theme of that ad was to stay active and avoid the dreaded beer belly. Hanon took a literal approach to this collab and decided to model this colorway of the retro Reebok model around exactly that, a beer belly. Flesh-toned suede is used across portions of the upper, while white pebbled leather is used to resemble cellulite. Indigo denim is applied to the eyelets, mid panel, and heel to resemble the jeans the gut is hanging over after one too many pints at the bar. Other details include a yellow bar towel inner lining, navy blue leather insole, and red branding tabs on the heel to resemble the signature tag on a pair of Levi's. Special graphics are also present on the tongue and insole.
The Hanon x Reebok Workout Lo Plus "Belly's Gonna Get Ya" releases exclusively in-store at Hanon on Jan. 26 with any remaining pairs being released on the shop's online store the following day. Retail will be £99 (app. $138).
