Adidas introduced the concept of 4D printing through the utilization of digital light synthesis in 2017 with the Futurecraft 4D. The first 300 pairs of the shoe went out to friends and family, but the promise of wider availability has loomed ever since—the brand hoped to have 5,000 pairs at retail this Fall/Winter, with an additional 100,000 pairs planned by the end of 2018.

While the shoe's retail arrival has yet to materialize, leaker Yeezy Mafia posted a look at a new colorway of the model which features a pink 4D-printed midsole. It's unclear whether this is a sample or just a mock-up, but based on the caption, it could be a preview of what's to come for the model in the new year.
