When Russell Westbrook signed his massive 10-year contract extension with Jordan Brand in September, news of his new deal came with word that the Thunder point guard would be getting his own on-court signature shoe to complement his off-court line. This month, Nike's top exec confirmed that such a shoe was coming.
Now, product images of a new Jordan model for Westbrook have surfaced online. It's unclear if this is Westbrook's signature shoe or just a Jordan team model tied to him.
The model is called the Jordan Fly Next, according to Japanese sneaker site US11, and has Westbrook-specific details like his "Why Not?" catchphrase on the tongue, his logo on the strap, and an emblem on the insole.
There is no sneaker release date information for this pair of Jordans, but Westbrook's on-court signature model is scheduled to debut in January.
