The always charitable J.J. Watt has decided to gift his latest Reebok sneaker to soldiers stationed in the Middle East. The Texans defensive end had a back and forth with a soldier stationed in Afghanistan on Thursday night that ended in him deciding to ship sneakers there.
It began with a tweet from Watt promoting a new colorway of his Reebok JJ 2 signature sneaker. From there, the soldier asked about shipping to Afghanistan.
Do you ship to Afghanistan? I'm deployed and would love a pair!— Log🐯 (@OfMiceAndLogann) December 14, 2017
I don’t think it’s on the normal distribution map, but I’ll make sure that we find a way to make it happen.— JJ Watt (@JJWatt) December 14, 2017
DM me your size and the address. https://t.co/p5OCxLbtOC
In the end, Watt decided to ship pairs for the whole unit.
Watt has used sneakers for charity efforts in the past, raising money for hurricane relief efforts via custom Texans Yeezy Boosts.
