Chicago-native Chance the Rapper has once again used his platform to help out the city's youth. This time around, Chance gave 300 high schoolers an early Christmas present by gifting them with pairs of the yet-to-be-released Air Jordan 11 "Win Like '96."
The surprise giveaway took place at the monthly Open Mike night event hosted by Chance's SocialWorks charity and the Chicago Public Library. The name of the event pays tribute to Chance's mentor, Mike Hawkins, who passed away three years ago. While on stage, Chance revealed stacks on stacks of boxes of the upcoming Holiday 2017 release from Jordan Brand.
Some of the students in attendance expressed their gratitude and thanks via Twitter, saying that this was their first pair of Air Jordans.
The Air Jordan 11 "Win Like '96" makes its official retail debut on Dec. 9 for $220.
