An awkward hit during this past Monday night's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals resulted in linebacker Ryan Shazier being carted off the field with a spinal injury. While doctors say Shazier is making progress, a recent procedure to fuse his spine not only puts an end to his 2017 season, but could potentially end his playing career. The Steelers must continue their run at the Super Bowl without the Pro Bowler, but his teammates will be playing with him in mind.
Wide receiver Antonio Brown is making sure Shazier still has a presence on the field tomorrow night. With the help of his go-to customizer Corey Pane, Brown will lace up these Nike Alpha Pro cleats bearing a portrait of Shazier, a lion head and his motto "Shalieve." Brown previewed the pair on Instagram and Snapchat.
Brown and the Steelers host the rival Baltimore Ravens tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. EST.
