To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original release of the Air Max 97 Nike has employed a variety of different approaches. Its brought back OG colorways, introduced more modern iterations of the shoe, and even collaborated with artists like Skepta and shops such as Undefeated. Despite 2017 coming to a close, the Swoosh is still not finished with its promotion of the shoe. A brand new version has surfaced with a new take on the silhouette's signature upper pattern.
This new variation of the Air Max 97 Ultra replaces the standard look with a similar wavy pattern, but with more lines, more definition, and wrapping around the entirety of the upper—including even the mudguard. This particular pair takes on a triple black colorway, but more variations wouldn't be surprising to see in the future.
An official release date and retail pricing have yet to be announced.
