The ongoing drama around Nike's new NBA jerseys ripping has reached the height of the company's executive team, with chairman, CEO, and president Mark Parker commenting on the uniform malfunctions in an interview with CNBC on Wednesday. Parker said that Nike obsesses over its product, especially that of top-tier athletes, and is working on a fix.

"We're working with the NBA, we've isolated the issue, and we feel like we've got command of the situation and feel good about where we are," he said.

As he's wont to do, Parker went on to discuss the innovation upsides of the new jersey, adding that "player feedback has been enormously positive."

LeBron James had his Cavs jersey ripped along the back in the first game of the 2017-18 NBA season in October. Two other players had similar jersey issues during preseason games.

Nike took over the NBA apparel deal in 2017, and this season marks the start of its eight-year stint as the official apparel supplier of the league.
