Now here is something you don't see everyday—a listing for a pair of Nike sneakers with three stripes has popped up on eBay.
The shoes for sale are the Nike Matchpoint from 1972 in a size 7.5. This leather tennis shoe is one of the few Nike silhouettes that does not feature the iconic Swoosh. Instead, this pair opted to use perforated three stripes similar to the classic Adidas Stan Smith. This model only lasted a few months in stores before a claim was filed by Adidas for obvious reasons. The following year, the Matchpoint would replace the three stripes with the familiar Swoosh logo.
Aside from discoloration due to age, this pair is in immaculate condition given the fact it's from the '70s. If you would like to own this incredibly rare piece of Nike history, check out the listing here.
