Too long has the brash beauty of the Nike Air More Uptempo, designed by Wilson Smith and debuted in 1996, been confined to footwear. At last, the model can be appreciated as something not just to rest one's feet in, but also to rest one's body on. Shown here is a couch version of the Nike classic created by Aesthete Society for its Common Thread gallery show at Portland Sneaker Week.
The couch's cushions feature the jumbo "AIR" text while the front is adorned with air bags. Whether these bags provide the same comfort as Nike's patented Air technology remains to be seen.
This couch even has Nike Swooshes on it, but likely isn't affiliated with the brand in any official capacity, meaning that the sneakers themselves will have to do for now.
