After a few release date delays, Nike is nearly ready to launch its first publicly available sneaker that uses the brand's ZoomX cushioning. The model, the Zoom VaporFly 4% ($250), based on Nike's Breaking2 marathon shoe, will release on July 20.

According to the brand, the "Ice Blue" colorway will be available through select retailers, Nike+ in North America, and on nike.com globally. The "Fox Blue" pair pictured will also be available at select retailers.

The sneaker's name is derived from its touted performance benefit: The combination of the new ZoomX cushioning in the sole and an embedded carbon fiber plate allows for an increase in energy return of up to four percent, according to Nike.

This design is a key piece of Nike's "Cushioning Revolution," along with the VaporMax and React technologies.
