What started as a freedom flex is starting to look more like an audition.
For the third-straight game in Summer League, Lonzo Ball is wearing a pair of sneakers not made by his own Big Baller Brand. Tonight against the Brooklyn Nets, Ball wore the Under Armour Curry 4 in a black and gold colorway. What makes tonight's game shoes interesting is that they've yet to hit retail, meaning these were likely a gift directly from Under Armour. Perhaps brands are taking advantage of Ball's sneaker free agency as they did with Kobe Bryant during the 2002-03 season.
The Curry 4s follow games in the Nike Kobe A.D. and Adidas Harden Vol. 1. Is the Ball family second guessing their decision to not secure a traditional sneaker deal and guaranteed millions? We'll find out more as the story continues to develop.
