Ahead of today's Summer League semifinals, Lonzo Ball told ESPN's Cassidy Hubbarth that he planned on playing Air Jordan 31s. Moments later, he took the court wearing the "Black and Sheen" Air Jordan 31 Low.

Perhaps the bigger story is the piece of Ball's interview with Hubbarth that followed confirmation of tonight's game sneaker. When asked if his recent stretch of games wearing sneakers not made by his family's Big Baller Brand was an endorsement audition, he responded by saying, "Something like that."

Ball's father LaVar also hasn't ruled out a major sneaker deal for his son, telling ESPN that a big brand could acquire his services "if the price is right." Ball also said that Lonzo wearing different sneakers is their way of making the statement that big brands should have had an open mind at the negotiating table.

As of now, it looks like Ball and the Lakers are heading to the Vegas Summer League final, which means another opportunity to generate buzz with his sneaker selection. Could we see him in a pair of LeBrons or KDs? Perhaps something from a China-based company like Li-Ning? The most powerful statement would probably be playing for his first pro championship in the ZO2. We'll find out tomorrow night.
