Is It Time to Stop Instagramming Our Sneakers?

Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco questions anyone who spends time showing off their sneakers on Instagram.

It's safe to say that a vast majority of this site's readers have posted an Instagram photo of a new sneaker purchase or a relic pair dug out of the collection at some point. Understandably, this practice doesn't make too much sense to those outside of the sneakerhead bubble.

In the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping from Complex, comedian Sebastian Maniscalco has trouble processing the motivations behind that kind of flexing.

"Why?" he asks. "For what? Why are you doing that? I mean, you buy a pair of shoes, then you take a photo of it to show who—your friends? That you got a new pair of shoes?"

Maniscalco suggests an end to the era of endless footwear posting on Instagram, although it's clear in the video that he knows his opinion on the subject likely won't have much sway.
