When you purchase your "Baseball" Air Jordan 9 Retro next weekend, you won't know exactly which pair you've added to your collection.
Inspired by Michael Jordan's alternate career path in 1994 and the hobby strongly attached to it, Jordan Brand is implementing a baseball card-style method for this release. While not quite the wax and foil packs that trading cards were often packaged in, the Jordan 9 will come in a black plastic bag that leaves the colorway a mystery. Most buyers will get the black-based pair with Jordan's Birmingham number '45' embroidered on the heel, while a select few will receive a limited edition number #35 pair in brown, tied to his early days as a member of the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.
Additionally, each pair will include a chiseled, matte black Jumpman hang tag and dust bag. The release date is set for Saturday, July 15 for $250.
