Adidas has more environmentally-minded footwear launching this summer courtesy of its partnership with ocean protection group Parley. The white collection of Parley x Adidas Ultra Boosts shown will release on June 8 in store and online from Adidas here.
As with the last Parley pack, the silhouettes included are the Ultra Boost, Ultra Boost Uncaged, and Ultra Boost X. The sneakers all have white colorways referencing the crisis of coral bleaching and representing the idea of mankind raising a white flag.
"The new white colorway we are introducing across the Adidas x Parley collection aims to make not only a style statement but an environmental one too," Matthias Amm, category director of running at Adidas, said via press release. "Humanity has been waging battles against pollution of the oceans for too long, and the colorway is symbolic of the peace we need to make with the oceans."
These sneakers are constructed using recycled ocean plastic, with each pair consisting of an average of 11 plastic bottles.
According to Adidas, these Parley models are outfitted with NFC chips to provide a digital experience that lets wearers learn more about the collection.
