Nike has a new home in the Big Apple. As of today, the sportswear giant will occupy a massive 150,000-square-foot office space at 855 Avenue of the Americas that's been officially christened the Nike NYHQ.
Of the many amenities, perhaps the most interesting is the design studio that will allow the minds at Nike to better serve New York City with product tailored to consumers in the five boroughs. This plan ties to Nike's recently announced Consumer Direct Offense, which places greater emphasis on growing sales by catering to trends in specific regions.
A press release from Nike hints that these sort of offices will be the norm going forward, calling this one "part of a global initiative to add resources in influential sport and style hubs." Other cities mentioned alongside New York in these terms are London, Shanghai, Beijing, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, Mexico City, Barcelona, Seoul, and Milan.
