For sixth-grader Joel Rodriguez, middle school had become increasingly difficult due to daily bullying over his sneakers. However, as reported by ABC 13, eighth-grade classmate Amien Emamalikhani took notice of what was happening and decided to do something about it.
Though two boys had never spoken before, Emamalikhani approached Rodriguez with a photo of a pair of Air Jordans—the popular "72-10" Air Jordan 11.
"I asked him, 'do you like these shoes?' said Emamalikhani. "I told him, 'I got you tomorrow.' "
As promised, he showed up with the Air Jordans that he had only worn a few times before outgrowing them. The shoes have helped change the way things are going for Rodriguez at school.
"I felt real happy. Someone said they wanted to trade them but I didn't want to because he's my friend," said Rodriguez.
